Forecast Discussion:
PM10 and PM2.5 ended up in the Moderate AQI category yesterday, while ozone was in the upper Good range. We did see some dust get kicked up yesterday with the gusty winds. Our highest monitor, reaching well into the Moderate category, was the Higley monitor, in Gilbert. On a more positive note, we did get some rain yesterday. It wasn't a lot, but those on the more north and west side of the Valley likely saw a little rain.
Looking ahead, we don't expect winds to be as strong as the past couple days, and temperatures will begin an upward trend. With lighter winds and sunny skies, we also expect ozone levels to trend up over the coming days. As for particulates, we are seeing lower levels this morning, likely due to the rain we received yesterday. We are forecasting particulate levels to mostly be in the Good range, but we are forecasting PM10 to return to the Moderate category by the start of next week.
