AZ Community Science Alliance
Volunteer for Stream Monitoring
Revised On: Sep. 16th, 2024 - 03:04 pm
We need help collecting scientific data on Arizona's surface water streams. The data collected by volunteers helps us assess the health of our waters and is used in our Clean Water Act Assessments | Learn More >
Interested volunteers are partnered with existing community science groups around the state.
As surface water volunteers, you will:
- Receive training so you can collect and prepare water samples for testing
- Help design a study specific to the waterway you will monitor
- Collect water samples from streams in your Arizona study area
- Help scientists find pollution sources
- Monitor restoration projects
- Play an important role in protecting Arizona’s waters
Where Are the Water Monitoring Study Areas?
We collaborate with over 30 volunteer groups all around Arizona to collect water quality data on streams and rivers.
